Marking nappies and flexible packaging on a film line

A UV laser marks the DataMatrix directly on the film with minimal heat on the material. The flow is split between three packing posts, so the line does not slow down for marking. In the flexible-packaging video a code goes onto a bag in 0.35 seconds.

What goes on a film line

355 nm UV laser

Film and flexible packaging are marked with a 355 nm ultraviolet laser: it gives a crisp DataMatrix with minimal heat input, so the film does not warp or melt at the edge of the code.

Synchronised with web speed

Marking is driven by a sensor or by the actual line speed, not by a timer. That is why the code lands in the same place on every pack, even when the web runs unevenly.

Every code inspected

Right after marking an industrial camera reads the DataMatrix and checks print quality. An unreadable code sends the item out of the flow automatically, with no operator involved.

Flow splitting

Product is distributed between packing stations, so no single station becomes a bottleneck and the line does not slow down for marking.

Why us

Film does not forgive speed

On film at high speed ordinary solutions start missing codes. We match the laser to the material and synchronise marking with the actual web speed.

Our own workshop

We make mounts and non-standard assemblies ourselves — no waiting for a supplier and no bending your line to fit an off-the-shelf solution.

Own software

PPKLink and PPKVision are ours. 1C integration needs no outside developers.

One contractor

Design, supply, installation, commissioning and shift training in one pair of hands — no passing the buck.

FAQ

Answers before the call

Does the laser burn through the film?

No. Film and flexible packaging use a 355 nm ultraviolet laser: it gives a sharp code with minimal heat on the material. That is why film lines use a UV laser rather than CO₂ or fibre.

What line speed can it handle?

The ceiling depends on the material, code size and inspection requirements — we calculate it at the audit. In the flexible-packaging video a code goes onto a bag in 0.35 seconds.

What if one packing station cannot keep up with the line?

The flow is split between stations: product is distributed automatically, so no single station becomes a bottleneck and the line does not slow for marking.

Does this product group need aggregation?

If you need it, we add it to the same station: cases are built, pallets counted, data goes to 1C and Chestny Znak. Whether you need it depends on the requirements for your product group.

Station quote

Let us scope your line

Only name and phone are required — an engineer takes it from there. You get the station layout, equipment list and price range. Free, within a working day.

Line and equipment already in place, only software needed? PPKLink is sold separately

Want a ballpark figure first? What a station costs

An engineer answers, not a sales rep: one short call is usually enough to scope the station.
We will send the station scope and the order of figures by email.
