This is what the operator sees

One screen for the whole shift: how much has been marked and packed, how the equipment is doing and where the flow is going. The hardware on it is exactly what we install on the line: camera, printer, laser, conveyor controller. The only command here is Stop.

Two of these are ours: the camera vision — PPKVision, and the station workstation — PPKLink. We write both ourselves, so adapting them to a line does not go through an equipment vendor.

Throughput depends on the material, the code size and the inspection requirements — that is exactly what the audit clarifies.

Engineering

We build the configuration for your line instead of selling a stock box

PPKmark has been designing marking stations since 2017. We do not sell boxes — we design a configuration for your specific line, speed and material. Our own workshop makes non-standard units. Our own software integrates with 1C without outside developers.

We assemble and test the tooling in-house and arrive at the plant with a ready module. On a 24/7 plant, where downtime was expensive, the station was installed during a planned shift change. The line did not stand a minute beyond the norm. Full case

Equipment prices come from the group's public catalogue ppk-laser.com. Aggregation is a PPKmark ballpark for a typical unit.

If there is no station yet

Let us scope your line

Three questions about the line and a phone number — an engineer takes it from there. You get the station layout, equipment list and price range.

If the station is already in place

The software can be taken on its own

PPKLink is the same software that runs in our own stations: the job and codes from 1C, marking and inspection, boxes and pallets, exchange with Chestny Znak. If your line and equipment are already assembled, it installs on them separately.

Before you enquire

Answers before the call

Do we have to stop the line for installation?

No. All equipment and tooling are assembled at our site in advance. Installation happens in an agreed planned window — usually one shift or a weekend. The line does not stand idle beyond the norm.

What happens if an item with an unreadable code leaves the line?

On a station with code verification it will not: the camera checks every code right after it is applied, and the rejector takes an item with an unreadable code off the belt before the case. Goods in circulation without a valid code break the marking rules and are fined. The station is built so that such goods never leave the line.

What does turnkey include?

Line design equipment supply mounts and assemblies made in our own workshop installation on the line 1C and Chestny Znak integration staff training support after start-up.

Our line is non-standard — can you handle it?

Yes. Our own workshop lets us build any assembly for your configuration. Past projects include a pipeline marking machine from scratch, synchronisation across nine lines at one plant, and cross-border marking with production in Turkmenistan.

How does 1C integration work?

Through PPKLink, our own module. In most cases your 1C needs no changes: PPKLink itself sends the data on applied, verified and rejected codes.

If the line and equipment are already in place and you only need software — PPKLink is sold separately.

Do you need aggregation (cases and pallets)?

If you do, we set it up. Cases are filled to the required count, pallets are counted, data goes to Chestny Znak and 1C. Done, for example, for a beverage producer (72 units per case on a rotary table) and for windscreen-washer fluid in PET (1:4 aggregation after shrink wrapping).

Do you work with plants outside Russia?

Yes. One delivered project: production in Turkmenistan, codes owned by the importer in Moscow, exchange over a secure channel. If your setup is similar, we will walk through the details on a call.

How much does a project cost?

It depends on the configuration: line speed, material, whether code inspection, aggregation and Chestny Znak reporting are needed. The form takes a couple of minutes; an engineer then works out the layout and cost and replies within a working day. The audit is free.

You can estimate the order of magnitude in advance. From the group catalogue ppk-laser.com: a Chestny Znak marking line from RUB 590,000, marking automation from RUB 290,000, machine vision from RUB 95,000. Aggregation from RUB 350,000 — our ballpark for a typical unit. These are prices for equipment and its integration.

A turnkey line is quoted separately: design for your production, mounts and non-standard assemblies made in our own workshop, installation in a planned window, 1C integration and shift training. How much of that you actually need is what the audit determines.

Who orders the codes in Chestny Znak and who reports the marking?

Marking codes are ordered by your own accounting system: 1C contacts SUZ (the order management station) and receives code emission from CRPT for the required GTIN. We do not replace that step — the line starts working with codes you already have.

Then our part begins: the code is applied, the camera checks readability, and an unreadable one goes to reject. On aggregation a shipping container code (SSCC) is created for the case and every contained code is linked to it. Data on applied, verified and rejected codes PPKLink to your 1C, and 1C sends the reports to GIS MT — so stock is kept in one system, your 1C. Sending directly from the line is also supported; this is chosen at the project stage.

Chestny Znak marking automation: complete solutions for production

The full marking cycle from coding to aggregation

Registering with Chestny Znak is not enough: the code has to be applied by something, checked by something and carried through to 1C somehow. PPKmark installs whole stations: DataMatrix marking, camera inspection of every code, automatic rejection and aggregation.

Code verification: checking DataMatrix readability

A laser on its own does not ensure readability. PPKmark stations solve this: after the DataMatrix is marked, an industrial machine-vision camera verifies the code, checking readability and compliance with GS1 standards. Verification runs in real time and analyses each code in milliseconds, so print quality, contrast or geometry problems show up immediately. It covers the DataMatrix format, the GS1 structure and the requirements of the Chestny Znak system.

Automatic rejection: keeping defects out of the flow

If a code fails inspection, automatic rejection removes the item from the flow so the defect never reaches later stages. Rejection is the reason a camera is installed: without it, inspection changes nothing. Depending on the plant and the line speed, the reject can be pushed out by an air actuator, dropped into a separate tray or the line can stop for the operator. What matters is that an unreadable code never leaves the inspection zone — physically it cannot travel on down the line. Rejection is tied into the software and records every rejected item in the event log for later audit and analysis.

Product aggregation: from a single unit to a pallet

When products go into a case, the codes of the items have to be linked to the code of the case itself. When single items are packed into cases or multipacks, the system reads all item codes at once and creates the aggregation code of the case. This makes goods traceable at every level — from a single unit to a pallet. PPKmark aggregation cameras work even through shrink film, without stopping the conveyor. The aggregation system checks that each package is complete, excluding gaps and duplicate codes. Once the case is formed, a label with the aggregation code is printed and applied, linking all the units inside. For pallets the process repeats: a pallet code is created that combines all the cases. The batch is visible at every level: unit, case, pallet.

Marking technologies: choosing equipment for the task

The laser is chosen by material: plastic, cardboard and metal need different ones. UV, CO₂ and fibre lasers make durable codes on many surfaces — from plastic and cardboard to metal and glass. UV lasers with a wavelength of 355 nm are used for plastics, films and flexible packaging and give a sharp DataMatrix with minimal heating. CO₂ lasers suit cardboard, paper, glass and wood, working without inks or solvents. Fibre lasers are used for metal and painted surfaces and last up to 100 000 hours. TIJ inkjet printers suit tasks with lower speed requirements and allow a quick pilot or small batches.

Machine vision and code positioning

The camera does two jobs: it checks the code and finds where to put it, even when the product is moving on the conveyor or sits at an angle. CCD positioning lets the camera find the item or a reference mark, work out coordinates and tilt, and pass the data to the control system for precise marking. Packaging quality is checked by neural-network algorithms on a Hailo AI accelerator, which analyse seal seams and pack integrity in milliseconds and flag defects.

Connecting to accounting systems and managing the process

Integration with accounting systems is a prerequisite for working with Chestny Znak. PPKLink software links the marking station equipment with 1C or the plant ERP and transfers codes, marking jobs and inspection results. The system manages the code queue, controls duplicates and keeps an operations log — the one used to answer audit questions. The software works in manual, semi-automatic and automatic modes, adapting to the specifics of production.

Why the PPKmark end-to-end approach pays off

PPKmark offers not separate devices but ready turnkey marking stations: from laser and camera selection to installation, commissioning and integration with accounting systems. Our own production in Kazan lets us adapt each solution to the client's specific task. Station throughput is up to 70 000 codes per hour, code readability is 99.9 %. We do not resell standard equipment; we design and build systems for the specific task and keep prices 2–3 times below European integrators through direct contracts with equipment makers.
