Pharmaceutical packaging marking: code plus blister integrity control

The camera checks both DataMatrix readability and the pack itself — blister integrity and the presence of every tablet. A pneumatic pusher removes a defective blister from the belt: the operator does not sort rejects by hand.

Blister line: a strip of tablet blisters with a gloved operator at the inspection point

Case

Tablets: code verification and blister integrity control

Inspection is 100% automatic: no more sorting rejects by hand, a pneumatic pusher knocks any blister with a print or packaging defect into the bin. Every event goes into the log.

What goes on a blister line

PPKVision machine vision

The camera does two jobs at once: it reads the DataMatrix and looks at the pack itself — seal seams, blister integrity, every tablet in place.

Neural network on a Hailo accelerator

Deviations from the reference are found by a neural network on a hardware accelerator: the analysis takes milliseconds, so inspection runs at line speed rather than on samples.

Targeted rejection

The pneumatic pusher removes exactly the blister that passed the sensor with a defect. The verdict is tied to that specific item, so neighbours are left alone even in a dense flow.

Event log

Every removed item goes into the log, which is what you use later to find the cause and answer audit questions.

Why us

For pharma, reading the code is not enough

You need inspection of the packaging itself and a documented trail for every removed item. The machine vision is ours, so we tune the inspection logic to your standard.

Our own workshop

We make mounts and non-standard assemblies ourselves — no waiting for a supplier and no bending your line to fit an off-the-shelf solution.

Own software

PPKLink and PPKVision are ours. 1C integration needs no outside developers.

One contractor

Design, supply, installation, commissioning and shift training in one pair of hands — no passing the buck.

FAQ

Answers before the call

What does the camera see besides the code?

Sealing seams, blister integrity, presence of every tablet. Not sampled — every blister.

What happens to a defective blister?

A pneumatic pusher removes it. It knocks out exactly the blister in which the camera found a defect — in a dense flow the neighbours are not touched. Every case is logged.

Do we need validation for pharmaceutical requirements?

Validation is a separate project — a separate scope of work with its own documentation.

Will manual inspection remain?

No hand sorting on the line: an item with an unread code or a pack defect is removed automatically, and the causes are reviewed from the event log.

Station quote

Let us scope your line

Only name and phone are required — an engineer takes it from there. You get the station layout, equipment list and price range. Free, within a working day.

Line and equipment already in place, only software needed? PPKLink is sold separately

Want a ballpark figure first? What a station costs

An engineer answers, not a sales rep: one short call is usually enough to scope the station.
We will send the station scope and the order of figures by email.
